FAMILY DOG MANNERS ADVANCED

AKC Canine Good Citizen

Family Dog Manners Advanced Class is for 8 consecutive weeks.

This is a two-part class!

Part #1:  We start putting already learned commands to the reliability test by increasing distance, adding "in motion" commands and moving more toward off-leash reliability.  You will learn how to increase and keep your dog's attention.

Part #2:  The components of the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program are taught and participants get to take the CGC test!

The relationship between you and your dog continues to improve with age and experience.   Dogs and handlers who have mastered basic obedience will enjoy this opportunity to take on new challenges and renew or maintain the pleasure derived from working as a team.

Class ends with a final exam and the AKC Canine Good Citizen test.

*The Canine Good Citizen test is open to dogs that have a solid foundation in walking politely on leash, good greeting behaviors with dogs and people, coming when called and staying when asked.

The CGC Test is offered free to students who sign up for the class. The test can be taken by anyone at a fee of $10.00/dog but please call to pre-register and get details of date/time. Bring a grooming tool of your choice to the test.
